The Lidar department of the Valeo R&D Center in Prague is developing the flagship among our sensors: the Valeo SCALA® lidar is the first and still the only mass-produced automotive laser sensor on the market. It can detect obstacles on the road up to a distance of 200 meters and classify them in all weather conditions. It is used by carmakers for their most advanced models such as the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 or Honda Legend. Up to 30% of new premium vehicles are to reach level 3 of autonomous driving by 2030, and to do so, they will have to be equipped with lidar technology. We develop hardware, software, optics, mechanical construction, execute system testing and industrialization of this product.

Currently we are looking for a Project Buyer to join the team working on development and delivery of the LiDar sensors.

YOUR CHALLENGES?

• Leading the sourcing process from material cost target preparation till completion of automotive qualification steps and project closure
• Participation in project meetings, activities and support project award
• Involvement of Segment Leader in appropriate timing to share project constraints and propose sourcing strategy compliant with Group Segment Strategy
• Selection of supplier bid-list based on Compliant Segment Panel and liaise with Project and Segment organizations to identify Bundle opportunities
• Assessment of pre-selected suppliers' risk impacts on the project
• Installation of competition between suppliers bringing at least two suppliers at the same technical level and proceed with all negotiations
• Leverage of commodity organization to reach pre-sourcing, sourcing decisions and meet project targets
• Definition and control of communication flows and contents between project teams and suppliers

• Experience as a Buyer in automotive / rail / aerospace industry or similar
• Experience with purchasing of component from the field of electronic / mechanics / optics or similar
• Analytical thinking, initiative, flexibility
• Good level of English
• Organizational and decision-making skills
• You are a team player
• Autonomous way of working and target & result oriented
