Financial Controller, external reporting

Position Summary
- Contribute to high quality group reporting, internally and externally, for the PGS group.
- Actively participate in dialogue with other departments and auditors to ensure information flow and resolve accounting related issues.
- Maintain and develop procedures for a global process to ensure efficient, complete, accurate and consistent financial reporting on statutory level.
Main Tasks
- Maintain a good perspective and specific insight with respect to the statutory financial reporting requirements to satisfy (i) statutory reporting requirements, (ii) taxation reporting and (iii) tax accounting.

In team with Financial Officer:
o Prepare (i) consolidated group quarterly reports, (ii) consolidated group annual reports and (iii) statutory accounts for both Norwegian and foreign entities.
o Ensure that the consolidated group reports and statutory accounts for both Norwegian and foreign entities are fairly presented and in accordance with (i) PGS policy (ii) IFRS/local GAAP, (iii) Oslo Stock Exchange regulations and (iv) BU guidance (for operating management purposes) and are reported timely.
o Prepare technical memos associated with unusual transactions and resolution of significant accounting issues in the group.
o Contribute to develop and maintain internal controls, routines, and systems within external reporting. - Key contact and overall coordination with external auditors.
- Manage and ensure other financial statutory reporting for Norwegian entities -such as SSB.
- Ensure that the group annual reporting is within the requirements for electronic reporting format for listed companies (ESEF).
- Liaison between BC, Financial Officer, and accountants to ensure that input data and information is timely and appropriate within his/her area of responsibility. Actively contribute to drive processes forward.
- Build and maintain a good relationship to senior personnel within BC, Corporate, CAO, Financial Officer, Treasury, and tax in particular.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent accounting qualification.
- 2-6 years of established expertise in accounting and/or auditing.
Preferred qualifications
- Analytical understanding and able to perform high level preparing and review of financial reporting.
- Experience with the complete process of preparing statutory accounts (from analyzing the initial trial balance -> to having prepared a complete set of P&L, BS, Cashflow, Equity and notes).
- Experience with Norwegian tax law, tax papers and reporting to authorities.
- Experience with “Maestro Årsoppgjør” (statutory accounts and tax papers).
- Knowledge of IFRS, and regulations on simplified application of the International Financial Reporting Standards (forenklet IFRS)
- Knowledge of the requirements for electronic reporting format for listed companies (ESEF)
- Good understanding of PGS legal, accounting, and financial structure.
- High tax awareness and understanding of tax structure and risks.
- Manage effectively in a matrix organization.
- Supports and promotes improved methods, procedures, and technology within FARO.
- Team player with positive attitude, high motivation and willingness to learn.
- Fluent in Norwegian and English.
